NATIONAL WILDLIFE WEEK
National Wildlife Week Celebration at GCTE GCTE observed National Wildlife Week on October 9 as part of the October 2–8 celebration, with the aim of promoting awareness on wildlife conservation. The program began with a prayer by Sneha (I B.Ed.), followed by an introduction from Amrutha (I B.Ed.) highlighting the importance of biodiversity and ecological balance. An engaging presentation on “The Life of Honeybees” was delivered by Devendhu and Amrutha, covering their social structure, caste system, royal jelly, honeycombs, and pollen baskets. This was followed by an insightful talk by Soliha on Man–Wildlife Conflict, discussing issues such as sea turtle nesting disruptions, elephant corridors, and water depletion caused by eucalyptus plantations. Sandra then spoke about the extinction of the dodo bird and its link to the disappearance of the Calvaria tree, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all organisms.
